Nome del progetto:

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Rural Areas (Stronger Combined - StroComb) second stage (first stage approved)

Stato: In Preparation
Data di creazione: 31-05-2016

Obbiettivi del progetto:

Stronger Combined’s MaaS vision is that citizens buy mobility in a similar way to mobile
data
for flexible point-A-to-B combined trips on public transport (PT) and emerging mobility
solutions (EMS). The PT sector will join efforts to address three major challenges in rural areas:
(a) rising costs per passenger-trip due to demographic changes, (b) the mismatch between
service offer and passenger preferences and (c) the difficulties to define the roles of PT
authorities in the mobility revolution. Stronger Combined aims to mobilise operational capacity,
use incentives and added values to promote PT over the private car and attract private mobility
providers to the sector. The consortium will demonstrate a stepwise roadmap towards rural
MaaS divided into four steps: (1) mobility hubs with real-life innovation processes and
citizen cooperation, (2) research into passenger incentives in order to identify added values
of PT, (3) integration of EMS and PT systems at Mobility Hubs and (4) enabling of
technical and financial integration
between mobility operators to allow combined mobility
and MaaS. The expected results include at least 8 new combined transport and logistics
solutions for first and last mile trips and deliveries, 20 new low-emission shared vehicles as
well as a shift from single-person car rides to PT and EMS trips and thus reduction of CO2
emissions
. Dissemination targets at least 160 mobility operators to further increase the
capacity of authorities and enterprises.
