Health facilities (rest homes, hospitals and collective structures) are acquiring growing dimensions and great relevance particularly in small-medium communities. The waste produced from these structures contains organic materials like cellulose and polymers and biological substances that could be exploited for energy and heat generation or recovered (re-used and recycled) for further utilisations. Nowadays the disposal oversees the health facilities and communities that use expensive and environmentally not friendly methods as incineration and land filling.
Our objective is to design and propose new methods for efficient energy production with local utilisation together to material re-use and recycling processes.
