BIOAGRI

The BIOAGRI project aims at studying, defining and planning the development of an information system based on a unique database of relevant technologies in the agricultural sources biomass feedstock.  The project will define the market demand, the business model to launch and maintain such an information system, and the IT structure and architecture. The market demand and the business model needs are expected to provide the requirements for the definition of the information system.

The proposal is based on the following main pillars:

• the experience of the proposers that are already providing information systems based on database of technologies and are selling it as service. The proposers, therefore, have a consolidated knowledge on how to maintain such a systems in a profitable way
• The background knowledge and assets acquired by the partners through the BIOPEN project, where a matching between open innovation challenges and stakeholders in the bio-based industries has been developed. The pool of users of BIOPEN can be the first responders of the market demand analysis and future usage of a technology-based database
• The tools and assets of Innovation Engineering (project coordinator), that has developed tools to automatically gather available data for innovation, categorize them, and make use of artificial intelligence to provide personalized recommendation to users. Such tools and approach could provide an important part of a technology database to offer proactive services that allow users to discover technologies useful for them
• A complementary consortium that include expert artificial intelligence and services base don IT systems, partners with deep knowledge of the bio-based sector that will provide hints on how to develop categorization of databases, and partners that will ensure the involvement of the right number of users during the study and afterword.
