Short summary Tektelic develops IoT devices utilizing low-power and long-range wireless technologies with a focus on respiratory health monitoring. Their devices are designed for 3-4 month battery life and no reliance on Wi-Fi or cellular infrastructure. They are looking to go-to-market with Digital Health Platform solution providers seeking reliable, accurate and scalable devices to feed valuable data into their platform.

Full description Tektelic is a Canadian IoT device designer with a focus on wearable devices for Remote Patient monitoring. They identified a market need for a simple, reliable, low-maintenance and easy-to-deploy wireless device to continuously monitor key respiratory vital signs with a goal to support early intervention and promote continuous monitoring in high-risk environments such as hospitals, senior care residences and for seniors at home. Existing respiratory health monitoring practices in these environments can be very manual, time consuming and expensive. Their organization utilized its expertise as a premier designer of low-power, long-range IoT solutions to design a comprehensive respiratory health monitoring solution. The solution is an End-to-End health monitoring IoT solution which includes a chest or arm band device that can be worn comfortably and discreetly, as well as a user-friendly application to visualize and manage collected data. The device continuously measures and monitors Heart Rate, Respiration Rate, Body Temperature, SPO2, Chest Expansion, Activity and Body Position. A challenge for healthcare workers who are currently using wireless devices to monitor their patients is keeping the devices charged, as typically these devices have a battery life of just a few days. Tektelic’s device leverages a low-power wireless technology called LoRaWAN and can operate for 3-4 months on a coin-cell battery while continuously monitoring the patient.

Technical Specification or Expertise Sought Types of companies Tektelic is looking to partner with include Medical Platform providers, Medical Technology System Integrators, Digital Health Solution Providers, Telehealth Providers or even established Medical Device manufacturers who can assist with go-to-market. In return, they offer a low-power, long-range IoT solution that is new to the Medical tech industry but provides immense value.
