Short summary The Polish Institute with many years of scientific, research and business experience offers marine propellers produced thanks to the 3D_WAAM technology, which is one of the most modern engineering techniques. The technology allows for the production of the highest quality propellers while maintaining the repeatability of printed products. The institution is ready to cooperate with clients in Europe and beyond on the basis of a commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Full description The Polish R&D institute experienced also in business relations and providing a set of solutions for companies, works for the needs of many industries related to the production and application of metals. It conducts research of a unique nature - from laboratory research to pilot scale research, in the field of all non-ferrous metals, especially Cu, Al, Zn, Pb, Ag, in such specialties as: processing of ores and other mineral raw materials, as well as secondary raw materials, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, scrap and waste processing, environmental protection, powder metallurgy, analytical chemistry, metal processing, additive technologies (3D printing), materials engineering - new materials, chemical power sources and others. They have worked out an innovative way of producing marine propellers with the use of 3D-WAAM printing method. 3D_WAAM printing technology is a particularly promising technology from the Direct Energy Deposition (DED) group of additive technologies, for the production of a wide range of products that can replace conventional technologies. The WAAM technology uses the input material in the form of a wire, and the electric arc is a heat source which, connected to the wire feeding system, enables the production of metal objects, building them layer by layer. The developed technology is an excellent alternative for the production of elements working in a corrosive sea environment, in comparison to the currently used foundry technologies and can be successfully used not only in the shipbuilding industry, but wherever high corrosion resistance is expected from working elements. The Institute searches for business representatives in Europe and beyond that have well established business relations with industries operating in highly corrosive environment like shipbuilding industry, and is ready to sign a commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Advantages and innovations The main advantages of 3D_WAAM printing technology are lower investment costs, as well as shortening the production time by reducing the number of stages. The key advantage of 3D_WAAM printing technology, compared to traditional production methods, is obtaining excellent quality and repeatability of printed products. The greatest benefits of using additive technologies are the ability to produce parts with a high degree of geometric complexity and short production time. The advantages of 3D printing also include the simplicity of the production process and low initial cost. Due to the high speed of producing objects with complex shapes and the low price of input materials, WAAM is one of the highly economical 3D printing technologies, whose profitability exceeds other groups of incremental technologies using metals and their alloys as input material. 3D_WAAM printing technology is an economical solution, characterized by high product quality and not burdening the environment. The production of metal elements using 3D_WAAM printing is one of the most modern engineering technologies. Currently, these technologies are the driving force of materials engineering and should be constantly developed.
