Project aims at demonstrating best practise industrial method and process for fabricating metallic cover pans and frames of electronic devices made of fully-recycled metallic lightweight materials. The first goal is realized by introducing 100% recycled aluminium alloys starting from recycling chips, obtained by virtuous recycling of Al metal in smartphone. The innovative technology route to be use is based on using as raw material a mixture of pre-cleaned chips that are usually produced over in-situ machining operations for finishing the product with metallic particulate Al produced by mechanical refinement of secondary aluminium (i.e. aluminium provided by recycling marketplace). The process route to develop is based onto pre-shaping of semi-finished products (plates) by using a fully-solid state process consisting in a warm-extrusion and superplastic forging of finished part that accounts for a very low environmental impact; only resources are necessary are electricity for equipment machine, without use of any chemicals usually required during protection of molten baths when conventional melting processes are employed.
